INVASION DAY is driven home under Colin Keane to win his maiden Cork, 18th May 18

We head out west to Roscommon for the final time this season for an eight race card that now kicks off at the earlier time of 16:05pm. I’ve only declared the two to run with INVASION DAY in the first which is a two year old winners race. Ten go to post here with only two previous winners amongst them. Invasion Day is a grand sort with ability to run to his rating but achieved over shorter trips and believe that this is his minimum trip. He should be competitive but both winners will be vulnerable to a good maiden receiving the weight allowance.

ANCESTRAL is a nice filly that ran well on debut over a month ago and I step her up in trip for her second start. She gives the impression that this step up should suit but I was very tempted to stay at the mile but as this was a fillies only race became the deciding factor in running her. Stall 14 is a horrible draw around a tight sharp track like this but nothing we can do about that now. Hopefully she has improved for her first run and that that’s good enough to win this but she should, at the very least, be competitive.
