We are racing up here again tonight which is keeping the show going at the moment and thankfully so. I went racing last night and was delighted with my runners and probably saw an above average filly in Could It Be Love win the fillies maiden. She is some specimen to look at (and I’m told is all of 600kgs) and from that outfit could end up doing anything later on this summer.

I’ve declared another three for tonight’s card and BLUE ULURU returns to action in the 3 year old only handicap over 6f. She did well last summer winning two while still being very unfurnished and has returned a much more finished article. I’m happy enough with her homework and this is a lovely race to start back with as she does want a quick surface. All being well, I would be very hopeful of getting some blacktype with her but to be good enough to achieve that she would have to be very competitive in a race of this nature first. She has a big weight tonight and as she’s not the biggest it is a concern. I’m hoping that she can perform to her rating.

HYPERLAPSE is a solid straightforward gelding who’s only negative is his sire Casemento! We have been very lucky with the few we’ve had by him and have won with most of them and I’m happy that this lad will pay his way. This is an ideal race to start back in and off his rating of 77 he should keep the rest honest. The few 3 year olds we have run have all pleased me which gives us a good guide to the likes of this lad and I’m sure there’s a similar maiden in him if not tonight.

RAG TIME RED is top weight in the bottom grade and I’m hoping that the step up in trip improves him sufficiently to win. The negative is that he’s a very feminine sort and not the biggest so top weight is not ideal. Basically he needs to show something on track sooner rather than later to stay on our team. The ball is in his court now!
