LUCKY LIMERICK

We are off down to Limerick today with another two runners. Amazingly the ground is declared as soft today as we are drying up everywhere else but the softer the better for Third Dimension.

You all know that I've always rated this lad highly, especially on his home work but I'm not sure that he has produced that on race day. In saying that, he's off a career high of 96 today so maybe we are getting there. He won his maiden here last season and I am a fan of horses for courses so hopefully the Limerick air will give him the improvement needed to win this. I couldn't be happier with him and he's another of mine that is off to the HIT sales in a few weeks. There's every chance this lad could do very well next year as he's a big lad and maybe just took time to mature. Let's hope we can win this with him before the transfer window!

The Ice Meister has been holding back on us recently we feel and so we are trying blinkers on him today. Unfortunately in races of this nature you can be fairly wrong in on ratings and that's the case today. However I took the view that I'd rather run him here than work him this morning at home, at least he will earn a few bob at Limerick! The soft ground is an unknown with him but trying him once on it will only educate us and we always have Dundalk later if he doesn't like it. Again with the transfer window looming he needs to shape up or he could be on a freeby!

Zuberi was claimed last night and lots of people were querying why I let him go. Well I'm a realist and a believer that we need more claimers in our programme and unless we trainers support the concept and allow others to claim horses then it will never take off. Maybe his new connections have got a bargain and if they do good luck to them and fair play to them for having a go. The sooner we take the stigma away from this type of race the better our industry will be.
