Big Night Out for Merryn

We are off up to Leopardstown tonight with four runners in three races. The ground is on the quick side and I hope not too quick for Brendan Brackan in the main event.

Fisherman's Blues is in the 2yr old maiden and this lad is better than what we've seen so far. This is his first run on a fast surface and we think that's what he wants. I've liked him from the start but he does himself very well so has been hard to get the condition off him. If improves for the better ground then he should run close here tonight. (I've posted a relevant song to this lads name!)

Tennessee Wildcat has thrived since his trainer started running him over his right trip! He has been very consistent and I felt this was a nice race for him. He will love the fast ground, likes to be dropped in for a late challenge and if the main characters drop the ball then this lad will find them out.

Brendan Brackan has been rock solid in listed and Group 3 races and deserves full respect in a race of this nature. We used him as a pacemaker last year and he ran too free on his return this year and just got tired. Andre wanted to come over to ride him tonight and back to his old self he should run well. I am a little worried about the going as he wouldn't like it firm.

It's rare in this game for a plan to work out but from the moment we named Merryn Moo in honour of Merryn Lacy, we hoped to one day run her here at Leopardstown. This is Merryn's local track and Leopardstown Manager, Pat Keogh has been very kind and helped to make a good night out for the Lacy family. He has arranged entry and dinner and I hope Merryn Moo runs well to finish the night off in style.

When In Doubt hated the fast going last night and won't be running tonight. The blinkers also had an adverse reaction,so I will rest her up and try again on a soft surface.
