One runner heading south to scenic Killarney today.
Picture: Lethal Steps winning his maiden at Leopardstown has since changes hands and will race for Qatar Racing tonight.
Racing is down at Killarney for the next four days and it's a town that needs to be visited if you've never been so fortunate. It's a lovely country track who's only negative is that it's a long way from Glenburnie. I will try and stay down at least once during the year and that pays this town some compliment as I'm a believer that a day away from Glenburnie is a day wasted!
I've only declared the one for tonight's card and LETHAL STEPS runs in the first race, a winners of one over 8f, a race we won last year with Boyfriend Brian who then ran 2nd to Capri in a listed race at Tipperary. We won with Lethal Steps on his first start at Leopardstown over 6f and the form seems to be working out. I like to , if possible try and go this route before stepping up to Listed or pattern level but sometimes our program doesn't facilitate that option. I thought it the best route for this colt as he is still fairly raw and I'm not sure that he learnt that much the first day. It's a big step up in trip but I'm happy he can handle that and hopefully his class will allow him get home tonight in front. I like him and persuaded Qatar Racing to buy him so hopefully he will prove a valuable addition to their string as the season progresses.
