Kerri and Chapter Seven Charity 2016

Picture: Chapter Seven under Kerri Lyons at Punchestownlast year.

The flat caravan heads south today to one our most beautiful venues, Killarney. Sadly the weather has broken so we won't be seeing it at its best and unfortunately the ground will be closer to heavy than good. I'm sending two of my older team down to do battle for us, one of whom I know for sure will handle the conditions and the other that I'm not so sure about!

SILK CRAVAT is a lovely sort that joined us from the HIT sales and is ready to start. I preferred this race as it is a four year olds and upwards and so there's no real weight concessions except for the fillies allowance. He's a very straightforward type by a sire, Kyllachy, I haven't had that much success with (haven't trained many!). As I said earlier, I'm not sure about his ability to handle very soft conditions but as it's his first start we will take our chance and find out tonight.

CHAPTER SEVEN has been transferred into our own colours and we will campaign him to have some fun. He didn't help Colin last week by not lying up early on, which ultimately cost him his winning chance as the winner got a run on him off a very light weight. He's probably a bit more clever than your average bear and I will enjoy trying to confuse him into winning a little race this summer! Hopefully he will also give Kerri a few spins on the track too at some stage once I can find a race for them.
