Yearling 2018 Lot 100

Photo: We send four to post at Bellewstown while I continue shopping at the Goffs UK yearling sales. Lot 100, a colt by Outstrip, is one of three new recruits purchased yesterday.

Back up racing on the hill this afternoon with four runners from lenburnie. Kerri and I are busy at our first yearling sales of the year over at Doncaster and so far we’ve purchased three after one day's shopping.

ZALZAR has been disappointing and she drops into claiming company tonight as we try to win with her. She showed ability early last year and if she produces her best form she should be up to winning one of these races. Her trip is my problem as I don’t seem to have found her optimum one yet. Hopefully she can handle the mile here and run well and as she’s still only three she may be enticing to someone else at a cheap claiming price.

I run two in the Foran Equine 2 year old auction race over the 8f and Colin rides DREAMBOAT DAVE as he can’t do the weight on PALABRES. She should be the best of our two but both will now qualify for the final at Naas in October which is important. Dreamboat gives the impression that he will need every yard of today’s trip and is probably more a nursery type long term. This isn’t an ideal track to start one at as it’s better to have experience around this sharp tight track. Usual rules will apply and as long as they run with credit and give us hope for the future that’s all we can expect around here.

SONG OF NAMIBIA is a grand old sort that owes us nothing and is now in the ‘fun horse’ category. He has won around here before and so we return hoping to get him back to winning ways. He’s in again at the weekend in the Amateur Derby and all being well Kerri may as well have a spin in that as she did well at the Curragh last weekend.

So no real obvious winner here for us tonight but it’s a lucky track and seldom we don’t have one here so anything is possible!
