They said it's over, it is NOW!

Here we are at the final day of our turf season and it's a day of celebration for our team. We will all gather and watch racing but with not as much pressure as there has been over the last few weeks and months. Colin gets crowned champion today and we are all going to enjoy the occasion. It's been a fantastic season for the whole team as we've trained 71 winners to date (actually 78 for the calendar year) and Colin needs just two more to hit the magic 💯 for the turf season. It's been an amazing summer for all at Glenburnie and I can't thank my team enough, sadly we will have to work twice as hard next summer to beat this one!

I've declared four for today's card but unfortunately SONG OF NAMIBIA won't be running as he has proven he can't handle heavy ground so he will be put away until next spring.

Our first runner on today's card is BURMESE BLAZER in the nursery and as the weights went up Colin is able to ride him. We have put a tongue tie on him today as we felt that his breathing wasn't perfect previously. He has worked since at home with a tongue tie and it has definitely helped him so hopefully he can run a solid race. I'm not sure that he will handle Dundalk so this may be his last start this year but I wouldn't mind having one go on the all-weather with him if I'm allowed.

INSCRIBE started his Glenburnie career off in style by winning at Gowran Park three weeks ago and he seems to be improving all the time. We believe that he wants the 10f but it's still a step into the unknown for him and hopefully the trip won't be a problem. We had this race earmarked for him in case we needed help for Colin and while it would be nice to win it, it's not as important as it maybe once was!

The aptly named FINALE STAKES (Listed) is the last race of the season and it's nice to have one good enough to run in it. MUSTAJEER takes a big step up in grade on only his second start for us as he bids to win for a second time at Naas. He's a fine big horse with a knee action that seems to be another diamond found at the HIT sales by Gaelic Bloodstock. They have proven to be a huge asset to our team in recent years and are in full control of what we buy at the Horse In Training sales. This is MUSTAJEERS' first run at this level and we will find out today if he is up to the challenge.

Today is probably the only time that I will allow myself go racing and just relax and enjoy the occasion. We have all given 100% this season and to get rewarded like this is fantastic, it's all still a bit surreal but to say we are delighted for our stable jockey is an understatement!

From boy to man..Congratulations Colin Keane

Still no blog for tonight - 8th November, 2017. Interesting. Looks like you expect to have a couple of winners so.

First easy winner in the bag. Nice going. The fact that you didn't do a blog was a tip in itself.
