Justifier Wash Down

A busy night ahead at Dundalk with five runners declared. I’m being told that the track is definitely riding kinder this term since they’ve put some fiber through it but it’s too soon to make a call on it yet. Hopefully the weather isn’t too bad and that we all get through this storm that is knocking around.

BRUNELLE lines up in the 5f winners race and while she is speedy she never hit me as one for the minimum trip. It’s a nice opportunity to try and win again en route to the Foran EBF Final at the end of the month.

I’ve dropped MARMOLATA into claiming company in the hope of winning a race with her and she is in off a very attractive price. It is the policy of the owner to win and move on if not good enough to stay on the team and hopefully she can do both tonight.

LEADERSHIP RACE was very disappointing last start and we can put that down to the heavy ground but he needs to show more here tonight. He’s a big lad and still a bit weak but still should be up to running better here if handling the track.

JUSTIFIER lines up in the 7f Listed race with a winners penalty and hopefully can put his last run behind him. I shouldn’t have run him back as quick as I did and I wasn’t happy with his action the last day as he got very unbalanced inside the last furlong. I’m hoping that the track plays to his strengths here tonight and he is working well at home. While 7f could be sharp enough for him and wrong on ratings due to the penalty I’m happy this is the right race to finish his season on.

KAFTAN carries top weight in the fillies handicap which is a worry as she’s not the strongest. I would have liked to get her some black type but as the ground got softer I ran out of options. It is for that reason that we are trying this track in the hope of winning again before the season ends.
