5 runners at Fairyhouse today.

Racing at our local track tonight and I have declared five to run from the first race to the last race on the card. They have been posting regular pictures of them watering the track since Sunday and I imagine it will be in beautiful nick for their first flat meet of the year.

I've declared two in the first race because if you run in an auction race then you are qualified for the final of this series in October at Naas for a valuable prize, so the more I qualify the better our chances are of winning it! BUFFALO BLUES is by the first season sire Harbour Watch and I've three colts by him here. He is by far the most precocious of them as the other two are more for next year. This lad is very straight forward and just does what it says on the tin! He turns up does his work and then goes back to eating and sleeping. I think he can win his maiden but probably over 7f but he's ready for a day out especially as it's just down the road from here.

MELISANDRA is a sister to Restive who won for me at two and I see no reason why she won't either. I'd imagine she will want further too but I think she is forward enough for a start here. Yes she holds some big entries later on but that only tells you that she shows a bit at home and as these races are very early closing races we have to cover all our bases!

BLOOD MOON ran a nice race when 6th at Navan last time but sadly was raised 4lbs for that which is unfortunate and doesn't encourage you to help fill those condition races going forward. This lad has ability to a level but is as lazy as sin and only gives the bare minimum of effort required. This is a tasty little race for a small field and will be hard to win.

FISHERMAN'S BLUES is not one of my favourite horses to be honest. This time last year he was exciting us here and I even recommended his breeder to go back to the same sire as this lad was showing so much. Every year this happens, we have one flying at home on the gallops but then fails to deliver on the track. Some of his 2yr old form gives him a right chance here tonight but sadly his work has not been good enough this term. I'm basically running him as I've lost the faith and am just hoping the track wakes him up a bit, I won't hold my breath!

FLY BY had a horrible experience at Clonmel on her first start and I'm told that along with Wexford there are a couple of other tracks that thankfully won't be used for flat racing in the future. She came home a bit stiff but was ok to travel to Cork last week and was in the paddock ready to run when racing was abandoned. Not running but having the trip away did her head the world of good and she seems to be a better filly for the experience. I think she can win a small race but I'd think it will be over further with some ease in the ground. Again she is mainly running because the track is so close to us and it's better than working her here at home.

Keep it up Her. Always up straight and informative. Your opinion has made me a few quid from time to time. Best of luck in your career . Hope you have plenty more winners
