Dundalk tonight with just the 2 runners

Back up to Dundalk for racing tonight and I have declared two to run. We were lucky enough to have a double here last year so let's see can our 2016 pair live up to their previous stable mates!

ROCK IN PEACE is a Colt by Kodiac and I would say that he's typical of the progeny, very precocious and willing to race. This lad is not over big but is big enough to do the job and he shows us some speed at home. Sadly for this lad tonight he has to concede weight to everything which leaves him exposed to a good one. It's important that I run in these auction races as it helps to qualify for the big 100k Auction Final at Naas later on in the year. I would like to think that this lad will be in the shake up tonight.

After disappointing me twice on the turf, STRADA DI CARSOLI bounced back in some style last Friday here winning his maiden easily. That win encouraged the handicapper to raise him 12lbs to a rating of 89. He was entered in this race off his old mark of 77 and just carries the compulsory 5lbs penalty tonight which leaves him, on paper, 7lbs well in! He doesn't know that and he will have to produce a similar if not better performance tonight to carry the big weight and beat these.
I'm still not sure as to why he hasn't shown his best on the turf and maybe it was as simple as the soft ground?

Hopefully we can return home tonight with at least a winner and keep our good run going with a big weekend ahead.
