The usual Dundalk fare on a Friday night, a couple of old favourites taking their chance.

Back racing at Dundalk tonight with five declared to run after a busy and frustrating week at Newmarket. We ended up with four new purchases and were lucky to get them as it was without doubt the strongest sale I've ever attended. There is no question in my mind that horses are being bred for the sales ring and not the race track and ultimately this will damage the racing side of things.

ROOM TO ROAM goes in the first race but it was a last minute decision as we were planning on going on turf and over a mile. I changed my mind late as I felt this was winnable and put blinkers on him to sharpen him up. He will want further but hopefully he can cope tonight and break his maiden.

We run two in the mile handicap as TOCCATA BLUE gets in because Kevin Prendergast doesn't run his charge. This is perfect as TB's owner is over this weekend from France and it's nice to run him when he's in town.Evan will ride him and while the horse is slowly dropping down the weights we will keep him going through the winter until he is claimed.

STRADA DI CARSOLI has had a light year as we had him sold but unfortunately the new owner died before the sale was completed. The ground on the turf was soft anytime we wanted to run him so we just waited for Dundalk. The mile will stretch him but hopefully he will get the trip and depending on how he runs will decide whether he goes to the sales in a few weeks or stays here a bit longer.

The listed race is one we won a few years ago with OBLITERATOR and had it taken off us in the stewards room so I feel it's one that owes us! I run two here and while Colin has chosen ELUSIVE HEIGHTS, no three year old has officially won this race before. He ran a cracker here the last day and I feel the last 150yds caught him out that night. The trip is our main concern tonight but hopefully he can go one better. TENNESSEE WILDCAT just never settled or got any cover here the last night so we can write that run off. He's well drawn here tonight and hopefully Gary can ride a race on him as he likes to be ridden cold, arriving late on the scene. Hopefully both can run well and that one can get his head in front and finish our season on a high note.
