Busy day ahead at HQ, with 7 runners on Irish Derby Day.

We had a very satisfactory night at the office last night with all bar one placed and a very comfortable winner of the last maiden. Hopefully he can follow in the footsteps of the previous winners of that race that I've had.

Another busy day at HQ as we have declared seven to try and collect some of the valuable prizes. IMAGINE IF is a nice colt that won't mind it soft and ran very well on debut at Navan. He shows us plenty and I would hope he has a bright future but I'm not going to rush him and may back off him after today.

ROCK IN PEACE is a lovely little Kodiac that's very typical of his sire. I probably started him a bit too early at Dundalk and he has taken his time coming on for that run. It all happened a bit quick for him after missing the break but he showed enough ability by staying on through them, when a lesser colt wouldn't have bothered. He's not over big but he should win his maiden.

I'm asking a big question of ELUSIVE HEIGHTS in the second race as its a premier handicap and he's the only three year old against older more experienced horses. I like this lad as he's very straight forward and I would hope that he has a very bright future. It's not the end of the world if today's not the day as I'm training him for the future but I would be surprised if he's not in the shake up.

BRENDAN BRACKAN starts in the Listed mile race and I couldn't be happier with the old horse. He's loving life at the moment and is busy leading all the main work and knows he's an important part of the yard. A real character that deserves a big day in the sun and I expect him to run his usual solid race again.

The RAILWAY STKS GR2 is the main two year old race of the weekend and I'm delighted to have two good enough to run. When I knew we were going to Ascot with PSYCHEDELIC FUNK I always had this race in mind for these two. MEDICINE JACK is the best of the two and only behind the Funk in maturity and that's the only negative I have about him. Whatever he does here he will be much stronger in a few months and I'm fairly confident that he will end up at this level.

KING ELECTRIC is a real pro and is taking his racing well. I don't think there was any fluke about the way he beat Peace Envoy the last day they met and I've no problem taking him on again. I'm very happy having two to throw at this as its a very important race on the calendar and I would love to win it one day, hopefully today.

I'm stepping SYNOPSIS up hugely in trip to two miles today as the lads are absolutely adamant it's what she wants. The softer the ground the better and without studying the race I would hope that she is good enough to be involved today. INTISARI ran a cracker last night off top weight after finishing beside her at Cork and that gives me good hope for this big filly today and I'm hoping that the step up to two miles brings the improvement needed.
