Curragh Preview

Good Morning, after a very busy week yearling shopping at Doncaster, we are back at HQ today for the Cambridgeshire meeting. We ended up taking home 9 yearlings, 7 colts and 2 fillies and they are all out on the farm having a nice break before we start on them in November. Hopefully one or two are above average and help Glenburnie win some nice races in the future.

Today we have six runners and one non- runner, as Lat Hawil has a stone bruise.

Miss Katie Mae is one of our better juveniles and a filly I rate very highly. She lines up in today's Listed Flame Of Tara Stakes over 8f and I'm hoping the ground has dried out a bit as she is a good ground filly. She holds some big entries later on and if it's soft I will take her out and wait with her. With luck she could be one to dream about through the winter months.

The big handicap is the Cambridgeshire and I've plenty at this level and declared five to run. We now are left with four and I had a wee laugh with the lads after declaration as all five of mine were priced up at 33/1!
I said to Colin it doesn't matter which one you pick as none will matter according to the 'experts'!

He has chosen Third Dimension as we have always felt there's a big one in him on soft ground.

Brendan Brackan is now in handicaps after a busy time in Pattern company, so hopefully he will appreciate the drop in class.

Piri Wango is not trying hard enough in my opinion and needs to wake up.

While Chopin has shown me none of the quality that made the Qatar team buy him as a three year old. He needs to shape up and very soon to allow him stay on the team.

Urbestchance returns to where she won her maiden and I have to admit she has been disappointing since. We believe she needs soft ground at least to be at her best and is well handicapped if she returns to her maiden winning form. If she does, she could have a fruitful autumn campaign.

Best of luck today ger and knowing you I'd say you bought more than one or two above average yearlings.
