After a busy week buying yearlings we head to local track Navan with two runners.

It's been a busy hectic week without having any actual racing as I've been over at Goffs UK buying our first batch of yearlings. We ended up with eight (nine last year) and I still can't believe that we are at that time of the year already. This season has flown by and more than once I've found myself saying "we will put him or her away 'till the back end", only to be reminded that we are in the back end!

But back to racing matters and we are racing locally at Navan today. I've only declared the two and EX PATRIOT will be trying to finally break his maiden in the 1m 5f maiden. Only 6 go to post in this but as always it won't be easily won and my lad will need to run to his rating to collect. I think this stiff galloping track will play to his strengths and if one can run to a higher rating than him then they can beat him, it's that simple.

BOYFREIND BRIAN from the same ownership left last night for a career in the USA and will be trained by Chad Brown from now on. He was good to us, very straightforward and I think he can do well in America, I wish him well.

BROMANCE is having his first start in a handicap today and it's at the bottom end! He needs to show something in this to justify us persevering with him. I am gathering a few that haven't been up to scratch on the turf this summer and I will run them through the winter program at Dundalk through January and March. They will help us keep our eye in as we ran nothing there last year which made for a long winter. Bromance will no doubt be on that team!
