We run 2 at this low key meeting at Dundalk

BURMESE WALTZ is the clear winner of the Forans Equine Irish EBF Maiden at Dundalk, 17th August 2018

We have another meeting at Dundalk today when we probably should be racing on the turf somewhere and I’ve declared two to run on a low key 7 race card. Once the turf season starts we should, whenever possible, be running on turf as we’ve had all-weather racing all winter and should only resort back when the weather dictates that we should.

BURMESE WALTZ won her maiden in good style here last August and for that reason I’m happy to run her back here again. I’m not sure how well that race has worked out but our filly has done well over the winter and is a stronger model now. I would hope to be hunting BLACK TYPE with her this year and today’s performance will tell us if we are on course for that or not. She’s another that doesn’t show much at home and all I know is that she is fit and healthy for today but needs to improve to be a stakes filly.

DREAMBOAT DAVE has had a run at Navan and stayed on strong to be placed over 10f and today’s 11f should suit him well. This is his grade and he has handled the track before so he should be a worthy favourite today and hopefully can break his duck for his syndicate. We tend not to keep many at this level unless we think they can win, as normally the lower you go the more they will let you down. At the moment Dave stays on the team but he’s on a warning!
